Pilbara Port Authority – Berth 3 Remediation
TAMS Group was awarded a construction workscope for the Berth 3 Upgrade which included demolition and replacement of the wharf deck and other associated works. The existing 182m x 32m x 300mm thick concrete slab was cut into sections with a road saw and lifted out using a 400T crane.
The steel wharf substructure was blasted and painted working off TAMS bespoke access system. The existing crane rail beams were removed and new beams landed in position and spliced. Permadeck formwork and steel reinforcing including an upper layer of stainless steel reinforcing was placed and fixed. Concrete was then poured in 300m3 sections with a total of 2000m3 of concrete used for the project.
During the final shutdown window TAMS core drilled and removed redundant fender structures before hanging the new Trelleborg SCN1100 fender panels.
