Shute Harbour (QLD) redevelopment
Nestled between the rainforest and the sea, close to the tourism and sailing mecca of Airlie Beach and the internationally acclaimed Whitsunday Islands, the deep natural inlet of Shute Harbour has been a thriving port since the early 1960’s. With completely restored modern marine facilities, an established tourism industry and pristine natural environment, the new Shute Harbour Marine Terminal is a unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the Whitsundays.
The project includes a new seawall and will take approximately 8 months to build and the rock will be placed by excavator. New piles will also be driven to support the new wharf and pontoons.
Once the seawall is built, the new terminal buildings and pontoons will be installed. The restoration project is expected to be completed by mid-2021, weather permitting.
